Prof Dr Achala Vaidya is the head of the department, Obstetrics and Gynecology at Norvic International Hospital. She is a senior consultant with more than 40 years of experience in this field. She has particular interest in women with Polycystic Ovarian syndrome (PCOS), women with Menopause, endometriosis and oncology.

She has a keen passion for academics, public health, and awareness. She has always thrived to improve the reproductive health of Nepalese women. Hence, she lead many societies like Menopause society of Nepal, Gynaecology Oncology Society of Nepal and now the PCOS Society of Nepal. With this Society she aims to provide platform to doctors of different specialty to discuss PCOS in context of Nepal, raise public awareness about PCOS, give public a platform supervised by medical team to discuss their queries and improve their PCOS life in a holistic way.

Prof Dr Vaidya has completed her MBBS from King George Medical College, Lucknow, India in year 1983. She did her diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology from TUTH, Maharajgang, Kathmandu, Nepal in year 1988 and MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from TUTH, Maharajganj, Kathmandu, Nepal in year 1997. She is a Fellow at Royal college of Obstetrics and Gynecology, England.

Prof Dr Vaidya has various publications on PCOS in both national and internationally indexed journals. She has given interviews on PCOS for the national health channels and conducted camps to raise awareness and identify women with PCOS and treated them.
